Should Bloggers be involved in Unethical Marketing?

It is true that there are various ways to make money online and that some people really don’t care about their approach towards blogging as long as they make money. A lot of people believe that being an unethical marketer can help you make money as a blogger, but my question is, is this an effective approach? Is it the right way to make money online as a blogger?

I personally dislike every form of unethical marketing and I believe it is important to be as ethical as possible if you want to succeed on the long run. I also believe that it is very dangerous for a blogger to be unethical and this article will be explaining why I believe so.

A Blogger’s Approach is more focused on the Long-run

Do you know that blogging is one of the best and most unique ways to make money online? And the reason for this is because its approach differs from every other approach towards making money online. As bloggers we are not just focusing on marketing to a one-off customer, we are focusing on building a unique and long-term relationship with our readers and this means we have to tackle it with care.

You need to ensure you do things right so that you don’t piss off your readers. It is very difficult to build your reputation but it is easier to destroy it so it is very important for you as a blogger to be careful with which approach you use so that you don’t end up regretting it on the long run.

The Importance of Consistent Learning and Research

Another important thing is that as a blogger we need to keep working on learning and adapting to new trends. There are some things that used to be ethical but are now considered unethical and you need to be careful about associating yourself with these things so that you don’t stain your reputation.

Make sure you focus your effort on learning and researching more as this way you will know which techniques are unethical, you will also be able to know which techniques are ethical and deliver the best results.

Building a successful blog might take time, but you can easily short-cut your success curve by learning on a more consistent basis.

The Exit Plan – Apologizing to Your Readers

It is also important to realize that some of us might have done some things that we don’t know is unethical. For example, maybe you just started your new blog and you have been copying other people’s article to your blog without knowing the implications. In cases like these it is very important for you to identify your error and apologize to your readers while explaining which steps you plan to take to be a better blogger.

In most cases your readers will understand and stick with you on the long run, and you will also have cleaned your reputation that might have been stained.
